The error caused confusion, but officials have called it a technical mistake and promised corrections. Notices sent to over 1,500 teachers The department is strictly enforcing the e-attendance system in government schools across Madhya Pradesh. Teachers are required to mark their attendance daily on the app. In Rewa, over 1,500 teachers received notices asking why they had not used the app. The notices also warned that their salaries would be deducted if they did not respond within three days.
Deceased teachers included by mistake Among the teachers who received notices, three had already passed away. The department mistakenly asked them to reply or face salary deductions. Officials call it a data error Officials said the problem was caused by a technical error during a data update. District Education Officer Ram Raj Mishra admitted the mistake. He said the portal had not been updated with the correct information and promised it would be fixed soon. Officials assured that steps would be taken to prevent such errors in the future. E-attendance system in MP The e-attendance system was introduced some time ago in government schools. Initially, teachers opposed it. However, the department is now strictly enforcing the system, sending notices to teachers who fail to mark attendance on time. ​
