Entrepreneurship and Electronics Innovation in Chhattisgarh Will Get A New Dimension

CoE & ESDD Centres To Ve Set Up

The Government of Chhattisgarh under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has taken a new direction of development and created a conducive industrial environment through modern infrastructure, transparent and effective e-governance system and investment-friendly policy framework. It is the constant endeavour of the state government to encourage IT, ITES and emerging technology based enterprises by establishing Chhattisgarh as a reliable and attractive investment destination.
In the same order, an important MoU will be signed between the Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of Chhattisgarh and Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) at 10.30 am in the presence of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on February 10 at the Chief Minister’s residence office. Under this agreement, technical and institutional support will be provided by STPI for setting up of Centre of Entrepreneurship (CoE) and Electronics System Design and Development (ESDD) Centre in the state.

As per the MoU, the Centre of Entrepreneurship (COES) to be set up will promote artificial intelligence, forest and medicinal products based Medtech, smart city solutions and innovation in smart agriculture, start-ups and entrepreneurship. Simultaneously, a state-of-the-art Electronics System Design and Development (ESDD) Centre will be set up, which will provide overall facilities for product design, prototyping, skill development and capacity building to about 30 to 40 hardware start-ups and MSMEs every year.

This initiative will create new opportunities for high skill based employment and entrepreneurship for the youth of Chhattisgarh. The youth will have access to incubation, mentorship, funding links, cloud and data centre services and state-of-the-art laboratories within the state, thereby reducing the migration of high-skilled local youth to metros.
Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) is a leading institution to strengthen the IT and start-up ecosystem through 68 centres and 24 sector specialized centres of entrepreneurship across the country. STPI has extensive experience in the field of software exports, data centers, incubation and high-level digital services.

The MoU signed with STPI will connect Chhattisgarh with a strong network of national innovation platforms and Centre of Entrepreneurship. This initiative of the Chhattisgarh government will play an important role in giving the state a new identity towards digital innovation, technological entrepreneurship and industrial development.
