Massive tree plantation drive under ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 3.0’ campaign took place in the Assembly premises: Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai and Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh planted Rudraksh saplings.

A powerful message of environmental protection and respect for mothers from the temple of democracy

During the monsoon session of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, the Assembly premises were filled with greenery, public participation, and respect for mothers. In a massive tree-planting program organized under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 3.0” campaign, Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, Leader of the Opposition Dr. Charandas Mahant, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Saw, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, and all members of the Assembly, planted saplings and reiterated their commitment to environmental protection. This commitment was not limited to tree planting, but rather became a collective commitment to the conservation of nature, respect for motherhood, and the creation of a safe and green future for future generations. During the program, all public representatives also posed for photographs at a special selfie point set up for the campaign and urged the people of the state to plant and protect as many trees as possible.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai planted a Rudraksh tree. On this occasion, he said that the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, started at the call of the illustrious Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has today become a mass movement across the country. This campaign is not limited to planting trees, but is a powerful symbol of gratitude towards one’s mother, sensitivity towards nature, and responsibility towards future generations. He said that when a person plants a tree in the name of his mother, he develops an emotional bond with that tree and is inspired to protect it. This sentiment makes this campaign sustainable, effective, and based on public participation.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the Chhattisgarh Assembly MLAs planting trees in the name of their mothers is a highly inspiring initiative. This message, delivered from the Assembly premises, will undoubtedly generate new awareness about environmental protection throughout the state. Expressing gratitude to Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh for this innovative initiative, he said that this initiative will play an important role in making tree planting a mass movement in society.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai said that today the entire world is facing serious challenges such as climate change, global warming, irregular rainfall, rising temperatures, and biodiversity degradation. In these circumstances, tree plantation is not just an environmental program, but the most effective means of protecting human life, conserving natural resources, and securing the future of future generations. He said that trees are the foundation of the Earth’s balance. They provide us with clean air, water conservation, biodiversity protection, and a healthy environment. Therefore, every citizen should plant at least one tree in their lifetime and care for it with the same affection with which they care for a family member.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the state government is giving top priority to environmental protection along with building a developed Chhattisgarh. Forest conservation, increasing green cover, water conservation, promotion of biodiversity, and public participation-based environmental campaigns are being continuously promoted in the state. He expressed confidence that the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 3.0” campaign will reach every village, city, and family in the state, transforming nature conservation into a social responsibility and a mass movement. He said that if every citizen plants a tree in the name of their mother and pledges to protect it, it can become an excellent model in the years to come.

All the members of the Legislative Assembly enthusiastically participated in the program, planting various species of saplings in the name of their mothers and pledging to protect them. Present on the occasion were Principal Secretary, Forest and Climate Change Department, Mr. Manoj Kumar Pingua, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief of Forest Force, Mr. Arun Pandey, along with several senior officials, public representatives, and Forest Department officials and employees.
