DoPT Appoints Sudheer Kumar Singh as Director in Defence Department New Delhi, July 20: The Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) has appointed Sudheer Kumar Singh, an Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) officer of the 2011 batch, as Director in the Department of Defence on central deputation.

According to an Office Memorandum issued on July 20, 2026, Singh has been appointed for a five-year tenure from the date he assumes charge, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The Ministry of Railways has been directed to relieve him immediately so that he can take up his new assignment.

The memorandum also reiterates that, as per DoPT guidelines, the officer must join the post within three weeks of the appointment order, failing which the process of debarment under the Central Staffing Scheme may be initiated.
